Adi kailash and Om parvat yatra
Adi Kailash Om Parvat Yatra 2023
The Himalayan mountain peaks in Uttarakhand are not only famous but are immensely sacred for the Hindus. Some of these mountains are considered to be the abode of Hindu gods and goddesses. These mountains have become symbolic of their unique appearance and incredible beauty. This blog is about two such wonderful mountain peaks in Uttarakhand, and they are none other than Adi Kailash and Om Parvat.

Adi Kailash Yatra

One of the most sacred mountain peaks in Uttarakhand is Adi Kailash. This mountain peak is so sacred that it is considered to be the Mount Kailash of India. Adi Kailash is also called by its other name and that is Chota Kailash, which means the ‘smaller Kailash’. This mountain peak is one of the Panch Kailash mountain peaks. It is also the second most sacred mountain peak after Mount Kailash in Tibet. Pilgrims have a deep devotion to this sacred mountain and they revere it for its immense religious significance.

Mythology about Adi Kailash

The mythological connection of Adi Kailash has made it rank among the most sacred mountain peaks in Uttarakhand. According to Skanda Purana, Lord Shiva made a stop at Adi Kailash on his way to marry Parvati. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva, his wife Parvati, and their two sons Ganesha and Kartikeya, along with their thousands of followers live on the mountain. Though you cannot see them in their physical form, they reside here in their subtle divine form. In this sense, Adi Kailash mountain peak is their earthly abode and it is located in no other place, but in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand.

Adi Kailash is the replica of Mount Kailash

Adi Kailash is the replica of Mount Kailash in Tibet. If you look at the mountain peak of Adi Kailash, it will remind you of Mount Kailash. The shape of the mountain peak is almost similar to that of Mount Kailash. It is for this reason alone that devotees believe that if you cannot go on the pilgrimage to Mount Kailash in Tibet, then it is better to visit Adi Kailash in Uttarakhand. You will derive the same fulfillment by visiting Adi Kailash that you might get by going on the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. The blessings of the gods will be the same, whether it is Mount Kailash or Adi Kailash.
